The center drill
Basic Details
The service life of the center drill depends on many factors, such as the type of material, cutting conditions, processing methods, etc. Under normal circumstances, the service life of the center drill is between several hours and dozens of hours, and it needs to be replaced in time to ensure the processing quality and efficiency. For more specific information, it is recommended to consult a professional manufacturer or processing technician.
The center drill is used as follows:
1. When installing the center drill, choose the center drill that matches the workpiece.
2. Make sure that the cutting edge of the center drill is clear and sharp, and there is no wear or impact marks between the shaft and the cutting edge.
3. Insert the shank of the center drill into the drill clamp and clamp it.
4. Mark the location of the hole to be drilled on the workpiece surface and mark the center point with a lead hydroxide horizontal line.
5. Start the drill press at low speed while gently placing the center drill on the center point.
6. When the center drill starts drilling, it should be kept vertical and not operated obliquely, so as to avoid the deviation of the drilling position.
7. After the center drill has drilled to the desired depth, stop the drill press, remove the center drill, and wipe it clean with a cleaning cloth.
8. Finally, further process the drilled holes with additional drill bits as required. Pay attention to safety when using the center drill to avoid injuries caused by fingers being caught during drilling or the workpiece falling off the drilling machine during drilling.
